Graphic Designs - Namibia Images & Others

In the following pages, we present some of our own graphic designs that have never before been published.
Sometimes, we at Web-doS design collages, posters, and
other kinds of graphics just for the fun of it, simply because some images
tickle our curiosity or because they are so inspiring that they trigger the urge
to put them into a meaningful context.
At other times, these graphic designs are the results of work done for our
customers; since we usually provide customers with a variety of design choices
for their web pages, logos, presentations, stationary, brochures and similar,
some of our graphic works never make it into publications due to space
limitations and other reasons. If we deem such designs worth publishing, you
will be able to see them here - if not yet right away, then a little later.
Our collection starts off with
graphic designs made
from Namibia images. They are a tribute to the exceptional beauty and
characteristics of our home country, which never fail to leave the onlooker in
awe. In Namibia, no keen photographer can resist the temptation of taking shots
around every corner, at different times of the day and during different seasons,
from different angles and in different light conditions ... and they all
invariably return home with far more photos than ever anticipated.
Being seasoned photographers ourselves, we hardly ever
go anywhere without our trusted still cameras - in Namibia, one never knows,
which photographic opportunities present themselves, close to home, on a short
excursion or during an extended overland safari. Namibia is full of surprises,
and some of our best photos are the results of having the camera ready for
shooting on the spur of the moment. Documenting our chance encounters in still
images has become much easier and therefore happened much more often in recent
years, since digital cameras have undergone improvements to the extent that they
became serious competitors for conventional SRL cameras.
With digital images being comparatively easy to edit and to prepare for web and
other publication purposes, most of the graphic designs to be seen in these pages
were compiled from photos taken with digital cameras: Until 2004, we used the
first edition of the Sony Mavica and the first ever digital SRL camera built by
Olympus - both the 'Mercs' of their time and very robust yet with rather
limited capabilities; next came an Olympus C-765, a magnificent yet very
affordable small digital zoom camera, which already produced images of up to 4
mega pixels (just in case you could still get your hands on a new one of these,
don't think twice - buy!); in early 2006, we went full out and purchased a
Panasonic Lumix with all the 'bells and whistles' - a somewhat extravagant
choice, which took some getting used to but if handled correctly, the results
are simply 'out of this world'.

After many years of travelling the breadth and width of
the country, our Namibia image library is huge, and you are welcome to
contact us, should you wish to buy or rent photos. Under certain conditions,
we might even make some pictures available free of charge.
Web-doS also provides Photographic Services at reasonable tariffs. We
specialise in nature photography and photos for tourism promotion purposes, e.g.
of accommodation establishments, places of interest and activities. The editing
of images for web publications, professional printing and/or display purposes on
computer screens can be included on request.
